Just yesterday, Impinj announced the introduction of new Impinj M780 and M781 RAIN RFID tag chips, which are the first extended memory chip in the Impinj M700 series. It is reported that the new label chip will be used to help medical, food, industrial manufacturing and other enterprises manage product shelf life and reduce waste while complying with laws and regulations.
In addition, Impinj has announced the launch of a new Impinj Core3D antenna reference design product portfolio that supports full reading of all Impinj M700 series chips, simplifies inlay and label development, and further improves the readability, accuracy, and reliability of the system.
The Impinj M780 chip has 496 bit EPC memory and 128 bit user memory, while the Impinj M781 chip includes 128 bit EPC memory and 512 bit user memory. These large memory formats support the capture of product attribute data such as batch/batch number, production date, expiration date, and weight.
Compared to the previous generation of Impinj Monza 4 label chips, the reading range of Impinj M780 and M781 has increased by 50%, significantly improving the system readability, accuracy, and reliability of various materials.
The Impinj M780 and M781 have a wealth of features, including:
• Impinj Enhanced AutoTune adaptive tuning improves readability and inventory accuracy for more materials.
• Impinj Enhanced Integrata data diagnostics, which can perform self inspection on label quality.
• Impinj Protected Mode enables consumer privacy by providing the reading location, time, and personnel of the tag.
• Impinj Unkillable Mode, which prevents accidental deletion of tags when attempting to use Impinj protected mode.
All Impinj M700 series label chips are antenna compatible, enabling a fast design cycle. New products based on Impij M780 and M781 tag chips are expected to be launched from leading Impij RAIN RFID tags and inlay partners, including Confidex and Arizona, in the coming months.
George Guo, Vice President of Sales and Operations, Arizona RFID Technology Co., said that the advent of the Impij M780 and M781 chips has enabled us to upgrade some long-standing label designs using the latest performance and technology. It enables us to design tags with higher sensitivity to further meet customer requirements. Customers of our industrial, file control, tire tracking, aviation luggage, and other large memory applications will benefit from the Impinj M780 label. So far, we have designed 20 inlays and hope to design more new products using Impij M780 and M781 chips.
It is reported that the Impij M780 and M781 label chips are now available on the market, and together with the recently launched Impij Authentication solution engine and Impij M775 chips, the Impij platform is being promoted.
